Sweet and simple cream cheese bundt cake is easy to make and so delicious! You can finish it with a dusting of powdered sugar, dress it up with your favorite glaze, or fruit and a spoonful of whipped cream. Either way, it’s always a fabulous dessert.

Bundt Cake Tips For Success

Bundt cakes are kind of finicky the first few times you make them. Due to the design of the cake mold, it could be difficult to get it perfectly out of the bundt pan. Trust me, I’ve had a few bundt cakes fall apart on me, so I have learned some nifty tricks to help with bundt cake dilemmas.

  • Use the right mold for the recipe. Some bundt cake pans are simple, while others are more intricate. Follow the recipe’s instructions, but when in doubt use a basic bundt pan.
  • Grease the bundt pan properly. Use melted shortening ( Not Butter ) and a pastry brush to grease the pan. Then add a small amount of flour to coat the pan. Shake off as much of the excess flour as possible. You just need a very light dusting of flour.
  • If you must use a baking spray, do yourself a favor, and use Bakers Joy® ( No Affiliation ) original baking spray with flour, or any other brand of baking spray with flour.
  • You will need some patience with bundt cakes because not only do they take a long time to bake, but they also require cooling time and that could be 10-30 minutes. You don’t want it to sweat, but you also don’t want to handle it while it’s still hot. I find the magic number to be 20 minutes, but you can attempt to flip it after 10 minutes of cooling time.

How To Make Cream Cheese Bundt Cake

Before you get started, make sure that you bring your butter, cream cheese, and eggs to room temperature. This is an essential step to getting a beautifully smooth and fluffy batter, which produces the best results. It usually takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hr.

Prep: Preheat the oven to 350º. Grease and flour a standard size bundt pan ( 10-inch ) and set aside.

Let’s Make the Cake:

Start by placing a fine-mesh sieve over a medium mixing bowl. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt. Sift into the bowl and set aside.

Next, add butter and cream cheese to a large mixing bowl. Cream them together just until combined. Add the sugar and cream for 3 minutes on medium, or until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Make sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula, then mix until completely combined.

Use a whisk to incorporate the flour into the cream cheese mixture. Mix until well combined, but don’t over-mix. You could continue using your hand-held mixer or stand mixer if you prefer, but be careful not to over-mix.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared bundt pan and spread the mixture as evenly as possible. Place it into the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle, comes out clean.

Once it’s done baking, remove it from the oven and place it on a cooling rack to cool for 10-30 minutes. Then flip over to remove the cake from the bundt pan. Continue to let the cream cheese bundt cake sit on the cooling rack until completely cool.
