Peach Sundaes

Such a simple dessert, yet so scrumptious! My recipe for peach sundaes is so easy and can be made in a snap! Who wants to tear up the kitchen every time a peach craving strikes? Not this gal.😅 That’s how this tasty treat came about. You don’t need to fire up the oven, or grill to enjoy warm, spiced peaches with ice cream.

Choosing the Best Peaches

For this recipe I find that yellow peaches work best. You could try it with other varieties such as the white or flat peaches, but I don’t recommend nectarines. They tend to have a firmer texture like that of an apple, they are best when cooked longer. When selecting your peaches, make sure to grab freestone peaches.

This type of peaches are easy to peel and remove from the pit nicely. If you’re unsure what kind of peach it is, ask the produce worker for help. They should be slightly firm to the touch. Ripe peaches will also have a sweet peach smell, so definitely check for that.

Peach Sundaes Coming Up!

Now let’s cook the peaches!. Wash the peaches well and slice in half to remove from the pit. Slice the peaches, or you could dice them as well. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and butter, to the skillet. Set it to medium-low. stir the ingredients together until the butter melts and forms a sauce. Stir in the peaches and continue cooking until the peaches become soft, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Grab some serving dishes, add a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream. Distribute the warm peaches over the ice cream and dig in!

  • 2 Yellow peaches washed and sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • Vanilla Ice cream for serving


  • Wash and slice peaches.
  • Add butter, brown sugar and cinnamon to a medium skillet. Set heat to medium- low and cook until butter melts.
  • Stir in the sliced peaches and cook until they become soft, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
  • Serve warm over vanilla ice cream.
